Owie Samuels
Owie Samuels is a native of Albemarle County where she grew up fox-hunting with the Farmington and Keswick Hunt Clubs. After graduation from Hollins University, Owie migrated to Europe and lived in Germany and The Netherlands for a decade. While there she learned classical European riding techniques which she passed on to her daughters. Owie returned to Albemarle County in the mid-70's to found Virginia's first cheese making dairy at Landsdale Farm along the Moormans River. Owie's years of living in Europe introduced her to a broad international clientele. Her practical experience in farming and horses is complemented by an extensive knowledge of local lore and families and the farm and estate community.
